Literally. Good headlights with pivots or smart brightness control etc are illegal. The poor SM got an awful time of it when it was briefly sold here. We have too much British ancestry to really like the French all that much apparently. Us stodgy old Americans don't care for those avant garde Frenchies. Except me.

Good God man, haven’t you tortured me enough?!? ! You guys for some reason get a mis h mash of all sorts of markets, getting an enviable proportion of the “good stuff.” We for some reason are way too wrapped up in pretentiousness to acknowledge cool stuff that is also weird. We take ourselves way too seriously. I don’t know how you can drive a rolling ca ricature of masculine insecurity in the form of a bro truck and take yurself s eriou sly but we manage  it.

It’s because we don’t make much so we’ve gotta import it. NZ has it even more so - it’s all imported so the rules almost don’t exist.

America has been trying for 50 years to protect its domestic market against better, cheaper, safer imports. I guess that means more laws
